September/October 1997
Canada (Toronto and Niagara Falls)

At the end of September 1997, we took a two-centre holiday in Canada, based in the Toronto and Niagara Falls. We selected a Globespan holiday and flew from Glasgow to Toronto (Pearson Airport) using the Canadian-based charter airline - Air Transat. The outbound flight went via London Gatwick and Montreal Mirabel (for re-fuelling). The return flight was direct from Pearson Airport in Toronto to Glasgow. Both flights utilised a Lockhead L1011 Tristar.

Accomodation was provided at the Bond Place Hotel close to the corner of Dundas and Yonge in downtown Toronto and at the Skyline Brock in Niagara Falls.

We enjoyed our holiday so much, and were determined to visit the attractions that we were not able to get either due to lack of time or transport that our 1998 holiday was based in the Niagara region.

Horseshore Falls from a distance Packing in Toronto - whilst Sarah went for a final shopping trip in the Eaton Centre, Stewart attempted to pack everything up. We arrived in Toronto with three partially filled bags, leaving space for souveniers. However, be the time Sarah returned from her shopping trip it was evident that another case was necessary. A small trolley case was obtained from Eaton's and packing was completed.

.. Early Morning arrival at Glasgow Airport

This was our first attempt at a holiday web site, look at the following years to see how they developed. In 2023 we have reviewed and revised it slightly. Having scanned the photos taken with the Canon EOS 500N (bought a week before thr trip) some images have been added and links to the on-line photo gallery.
