A chemical slippage - nail varnish remover!! - in the hold of the rostered aircraft earlier in the day resulted in no aircraft being available for this flight. G-DOCX was used after returning from Manchester on BA 2913 on time at 21:15. The APU on G-DOCX was not functioning which resulted in an engine being started before leaving stand 551 @ LGW. At GLA an engine was kept running once on stand until the ground crew had connected the shore supply.

Associated Observation Report to LGW.
