15 May 2003 (0736) BA Citiexpress G-EMBT on stand 18 at GLA receiving attention from Engineers
Boarding commenced as normal. When the cabin crew attempted to close the main door it would not close. The captain and first officer also tried without success. Apparently in cold conditions the door mechanism can freeze. Engineerds were called to the aircraft and a hot air blower was used to warm up the door without success. At 07:17 the passengers were asked to leave the aircraft whilst the Engineers striped the door down for repair. A hydraulic problem was repaired to allow the aircraft to be reused.
The extended wait for this flight resulted on a larger than usual observation report at Glasgow.
On arrival at Manchester several other Embraer ERJ145 were observed including bmi British Midland G-RJXB
