15 July 2003 (1530) BA Citiexpress G-BRYX on stand 41 at MAN
Prior to boarding the aircraft it was refuelled. On boarding G-BRYX, I moved from seat 2A to 12D and observed that there was a "drip" from the fuel filler flap. I pointed it out to the cabin crew. The captain believe it should be a "residue" that would stop before take-off, but asked the cabin crew to have another look prior to take-off. At 1610 on the threshold of 06L the was still a drip coming from the filler flap. The aircraft returned to stand 41 (arriving at 16:20). Following inspection by the captain and the BA engineers we were deplaned at 16:30.

Boarding of G-BRYI was not without incident. Awaiting for a wheelchair passenger to be loaded onto the transfer bus delayed the bus for around 10 minutes. The bus arrived at stand 81R (on the west side of Terminal 2) at 17:50. The lack of a working ground power unit delayed boarding until 18:00. After boarding the doors were initially closed at 18:10, but re-opened at 18:15 due to the absence of a tow truck. At 18:25 the doors were re-closed when a tow truck arrived.

On the approach to Glasgow the aircraft was put on hold over Lanark for around 10 minutes due to an incident on a Britannia Boeing 767-300 (G-OBYE) closing the airport. G-OBYE had had a fire in the galley and was being attended to by the GLA Fire Service on Stand 6.
